Professional Oven Cleaning in Pontefract
If you’re looking for professional oven cleaning in Pontefract, Love Your Oven provides a thorough and reliable service for homeowners, tenants, landlords and property professionals.
Pontefract is right on the doorstep of Love Your Oven, and I regularly provide professional oven cleaning for customers throughout the town and surrounding areas.
I’m Dave, the owner of Love Your Oven, and I personally carry out every clean. My aim is simple: to give your oven a proper professional clean rather than simply giving it a quick once-over.
Whether your oven has accumulated years of grease and baked-on food, you’re preparing for a house move, or you’re a landlord getting a property ready for new tenants, I’m here to help.
Professional oven cleaning for Pontefract homes
Cleaning an oven properly can be one of those household jobs that gets put off. Grease builds up, food gets baked onto the racks and surfaces, and before long the oven can become difficult to clean with everyday household products.
That’s where a professional clean can make a real difference.
I clean ovens throughout Pontefract, taking care to reach the areas that are often difficult to access during normal cleaning.
Depending on the appliance, I can strip the oven down as far as reasonably possible and clean individual components before carefully putting everything back together.
This can include the oven door, glass, racks, trays, seals, knobs, backplate, fan and bulb cover, along with other accessible parts.
I use professional oven cleaning equipment and eco friendly, non toxic products, while taking care to protect the surrounding area and floor.
And there’s no need to empty your kitchen sink for the job. I don’t use your sink to clean oven components.
Moving home in Pontefract?
Moving house comes with enough jobs without discovering that the oven needs a serious clean as well.
If you’re moving into a property in Pontefract and the oven has been left in a less-than-ideal condition, a professional clean can get it looking and feeling much better before you start using it.
Equally, if you’re moving out of a Pontefract property, having the oven professionally cleaned can be a worthwhile final job before handing the keys over.
It can help leave the kitchen looking clean and cared for for the next occupants.
If you’ve previously used Love Your Oven and then move to a new property where the oven needs cleaning, I also offer a 10% discount on the clean as a thank you for using me again.
Oven cleaning for Pontefract landlords and property professionals
A clean oven is an important part of getting a rental property ready for its next tenant.
I work with landlords, letting agents, estate agents and property managers who need a professional oven cleaning service that they can rely on.
I understand that property changeovers can be busy and often need to be completed within a limited timeframe.
I can liaise directly with the landlord or property manager, or arrange access with the tenant where required.
If you manage multiple rental properties, I can also set up a regular cleaning arrangement, whether that’s an annual visit or more frequent cleaning where required.
The aim is to make the process straightforward, so you have one less job to organise when preparing a property.

Local Lore
Local Lore
Pontefract has a pretty impressive history for a Yorkshire market town. It’s famous for its liquorice heritage, Pontefract Cakes, horse racing, Pontefract Castle and, of course, a few ghost stories along the way.
Pontefract Castle has played a major role in English history; including being the place where Richard II was imprisoned before his death.
From medieval castles to modern kitchens, Pontefract has certainly seen a few changes over the years! Luckily, keeping your oven clean doesn’t have to be quite as complicated. 😄
Haribo
Pontefract has a rather sweet claim to fame. HARIBO has been part of the town’s story since acquiring a majority stake in Dunhills (Pontefract) in 1972. The traditional Pontefract Cake was retained, and HARIBO still produces the famous liquorice sweet today.
HARIBO continues to have a strong Yorkshire presence, with manufacturing sites in both Pontefract and neighbouring Castleford — helping keep this much-loved local connection going for generations.
So, when you think Pontefract, you can think castles, liquorice… and HARIBO! 🍬
Pontefract Castle
Pontefract Castle is one of Yorkshire’s most fascinating historic landmarks. The medieval castle was built in the 11th century and played an important role in English history, including during the Wars of the Roses and the English Civil War.
The castle is also famously associated with King Richard II, who was imprisoned there after being deposed in 1399 and died at Pontefract shortly afterwards.
Today, the impressive ruins are a reminder of Pontefract’s remarkable past — and one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks.
From medieval castles to modern kitchens, Pontefract has certainly seen a few changes over the centuries!

Pontefract Racecourse
Pontefract Racecourse is another well-known part of the town, with horse racing taking place here since the 1640s. Today, the course hosts a busy calendar of flat racing throughout the year and is one of Yorkshire’s most popular local racecourses.
The course is also unusual in having a left-handed, horseshoe-shaped track, with its distinctive layout making for some interesting racing.
So, whether you’re heading to the races for the horses, the atmosphere or just a great day out, Pontefract Racecourse is firmly part of the town’s character.
The Black Monk of Pontefract
Behind the unassuming exterior of 30 East Drive lies one of Pontefract’s most famous modern legends. In 1966, the Pritchard family reported a series of unexplained disturbances at the house, including objects moving, strange noises and unexplained pools of water. Over time, the story became known as the Black Monk of Pontefract, or simply “Fred”.
The house has since become famous among paranormal enthusiasts and was the inspiration for the 2012 film When the Lights Went Out. Whether you’re a believer or a sceptic, there’s no denying that 30 East Drive has become a fascinating part of Pontefract’s modern folklore.
And thankfully, when Dave turns up to clean your oven, he’s only interested in the grease and grime… not the ghosts! 👻
